So. What’s the difference between Marine Spares Direct Remanufactured engines and the Rebuilt engines that are commonly sold in Australia? Well, quite a lot actually!
Our Remanufactured engines, which are built entirely in the US are built using a wide range of new parts. The best brand-new US-sourced pistons, rings, camshafts, bearings and hardware are used. Parts like blocks, conrods and cranks are specially remanufactured to make them as close to new as possible. Also, our blocks have never been used in salt water!
Rebuilt engines take the old parts and reuse them where they are still within spec, but usually, no work is done to them at all. So parts like conrods and camshafts are simply cleaned up and put straight back into the engine you buy!
So the choice is simple. Either choose a properly remanufactured engine that is close to brand new. Or settle for second best with a locally rebuilt longblock. At Marine Spares Direct we only supply remanufactured engines. No compromise.
